kyosai shunga

A Shunga Collector's Dream!

I am Marijn Kruijff and I started this site for fans and collectors of Asian erotic art (shunga). For the past 16 years we have been collecting and selling traditional Japanese woodblock prints (ukiyo-e) through our first gallery akantiek.nl all over the world.

Due to the increasing amount of interest in shunga over the years I decided to start another platform solely dedicated to this amazing and influential artform (Picasso was an avid fan and collector!). It's my mission to introduce and educate the world on shunga by selecting and offering the best content and pieces on our site!

Are you looking for any specific subjects? Or are you looking for shunga's designed by a specific artist? Are you looking for erotic paintings (Japanese, Chinese, Indian) ? Erotic photographs/pictures? Or are you just looking for background information on shunga? We got it all covered and we´ll add new pieces to our gallery (shop) and new content to our blog weekly.

Have a quick look and see if you can find shunga prints, paintings or photographs of your interest. We will ship worldwide (carefully packaged and with registered mail). All from our base in Coevorden (Eastern part of the Netherlands).

Where to go now? Just start by downloading my free ebook (in progress). It´s an extensive study on the complete works in shunga of one of the greatest Japanese masters Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849).

Client Testimonials

July 2017

Dear Marijn,

It struck me the other day that we have been working together on building my special shunga collection for over 10 years! The first receipt I have in my records is from 2005, and I think that might not be the first one.

I just wanted to take a moment to express my deep appreciation and respect for your knowledge, particularly in the area of these woodblock prints, and for your incredible professionalism when it comes to working with clients. You have never failed to provide fast, detailed, and candid information in response to any question.

And this is not trivial: the packaging and shipping of these works has been 100% safe, secure and reliable. I keep my pieces stored in the papers you wrap them in, to this day.All the best as you shift your exclusive focus into shunga, an area that has been growing in exciting ways, worldwide, over this past decade.

With best regards,
Brian
