Céline Andréa, who had a past career as a nude model, pursued her passion for photography by focusing on the artistic portrayals of nude women. In France, she has established herself as one of the few female photographers specializing in nude women, making a mark in a predominantly male industry. It never crossed Andréa’s mind that a girl who stood at just five feet, three inches tall and had curves would possess the ability to capture remarkable photographs. With a firm intention to pursue a career in education, the petite girl from the commune of Ussel, France, wholeheartedly dedicated herself to the study of the English language. Besides her BTS in tourism, she also dedicated herself to getting a degree in art history. Yearning for a fresh start, she made the bold choice to move to the city of Marseille. With an adventurous spirit, she fearlessly embraced the world of modeling, posing as a nude and lingerie model. Her artistic endeavors included collaborations with painters, sculptors, and even gracing the pages of prominent magazines.

Modeling for the Lens

Andréa’s partner signed her up to take part in a photo contest in a men’s magazine that published photos of beautiful girls. The news came as a complete surprise to her when she discovered that the men’s magazine had featured her modeling photos. Modeling was something that Andréa genuinely enjoyed, and she committed herself to doing it for a decade. At first, she was quite shy and uncertain, which is why modeling became the perfect therapy for her. The year 2017 marked the beginning of Andréa’s new chapter as she settled down in the city of Paris. Despite her ongoing modeling career to make a living, she eventually became a mother and grew weary of the profession. She desired a change.

Setting the Mood

One of Andréa’s greatest passions lies in photographing anonymous women by highlighting their imperfections and flaws in a beautiful and artistic way. In Andréa’s work, there is a deliberate focus on keeping the staging simple. The lighting is of natural origin. There is no artificiality involved, no assistant to rely on, and no team to support the project. She is not overly intrusive and does not interfere excessively. Andréa captures the natural feature of the women she photographs, creating an intimate connection between model and photographer.
