Prior to concentrating on her career as a visual artist, Dora created film sets. Her drawings caught the attention of a shop owner. Childhood Memories

Dora draws most of her inspiration from her personal life. Her exploration of childhood memories mirrors her work’s evolution. This reflects her personal growth. She expresses her life experiences consistently in her paintings. Her art visually embodies her personal history. Dora’s research focuses on female representation. It also explores multifaceted themes. According to a 2013 interview by El Correo Gallego, Dora considers change vital to her artistic process. For her, boredom is a cue to seek new experiences.

Lucian Freud

The many artists that Dora admires influence her artistic expression and provide a rich source of inspiration for her artwork. Artists include American artist Bill Viola, whose video and installation art explore human consciousness. Paula Rego, a Portuguese-British artist, known for creating narrative figurative paintings of women’s experiences and oppression. Lucian Freud, a British painter, painted intensely realistic portraits that explored the models’ psychology. Viewers appreciate Freud’s honest and direct portrayal of the human form, often showing subjects in an exposed and unfiltered way. With her signature large, visceral oil paintings of distorted female forms, British artist Jenny Saville boldly questions traditional notions of beauty. Dora’s distinctive style and thematic choices reveal the influence of these artists. The expressionist movement also influenced her. The movement’s hallmark was its emotionally charged representation of reality. These influences helped Dora develop her unique artistic style.
