This unrecorded print is surely one of the great ukiyo-e lesbian designs. It predates by around a dozen years, the famous image of the same subject by Chokyosai Eiri from the series ‘Fumi no kiyogaki (Models of Calligraphy)‘, issued in 1801.
Sex Toy
Two young courtesans experiment with a papier-maché harigata (artificial phallus). The girl at left ties on the dildo while her lover directs it to her private parts. The latter holds the box in which the dildo was stored earlier. This is not their first session as the crumpled tissues surrounding them indicate, and they wear their newly acquired sex toy in turn.
