Visual Storytelling
Guy Le Baube comes from a rich artistic background. His father, Claude Le Baube, was a celebrated French painter known for his landscapes and naval scenes. This heritage shaped Guy's creative vision, giving him a profound appreciation for visual storytelling. Despite his early ties to painting, he found his true voice in photography, blending inherited artistic sensibilities with his own perspective.

Joke
Le Baube's photography tackles the objectification of women through exaggeratedly sexual poses. In his 1999 work Bomb (fig.11), a woman exudes provocative allure, her face out of frame, dressed in white panties and a black coat, while holding an unexpected item. He seems to play on the joke that he can't stop writing, based on ideas and sketches he carries with him and sometimes bumps into. This photograph, among others, pairs overt sexuality with elements of surprise.

Encased in Crates
In the Readymade series, Le Baube critiques how women are commodified in fashion. He depicts them as packaged products ready for sale. These images feature women resembling mannequins, encased in crates, emphasising the dehumanising tendencies of the fashion industry. Le Baube's commentary highlights how this industry strips away individuality and humanity, prompting viewers to reflect on the ethical implications of fashion's commercialization and its effects on women's identities.
