The Norwegian photographer Petter Hegre was born on September 8, 1969, in Stavanger, Norway, and raised in this small but cultured town, the oil capital of Norway.
Well-Known Model
He studied in the United States, and between 2000 and 2006 he published 8 books with photos of naked women. His own wife, Luba Shumeyko (1982 - Fig.5), was a model in 2003, .in which she was photographed in various yoga poses. Another well-known model of Hegre is the Czech model and actress Markéta Bělonohá (Fig.9).
Personal and Intimate
Hegre took his first nude image on the beach near Santa Barbara, California, while studying at the Brooks Institute of Photography in 1990. In an earlier interview with Dian Hanson he explains about the eroticism in his photos the following, 'It's hard to say what makes a photo erotic, what turns people on; unfortunately most people can not differentiate between erotica and porn. My work has always been personal and intimate; never feels like porn.'
Exhibitionistic
And about models, 'Finding models is an endless process, s they must be lean, youthful, beautiful , and exhibitionistic - women who love the camera, I work with agencies, scouts, and previous models who refer their friends. We even put ads in the classifieds.
